RD002: The Subjectivity of Grades

Have you ever stopped to wonder why some classes in school aren’t included in state tests? Or aren’t considered mandatory by federal or state legislation? What about the fact that some of these tests aren’t even offered in school at all? The classes I’m referring to, of course, are classes such as home economics, shop, financial literacy, civility (including civic duties), art, music, etc. Well, before we look to answer that question let’s take a step back to understand what we would be debating.

This reflective development analyzes the purpose and utilization of grading.
