Antonia Darder is an internationally recognized activist-scholar and Professor Emerita at Loyola Marymount University, where for more than a decade she held the Leavey Presidential Endowed Chair of Ethics and Moral Leadership.

She is an American Educational Research Association Fellow, the recipient of the American Educational Research Association Scholars of Color Lifetime Contribution Award, and an award-winning author and editor of more than 20 books in the field.

I think a lot of communities have a problem of too much competition, I guess. That they can't... when it gets to a point that they can't be happy for other people's accomplishments and that the only thing they can do is want to be better than the other person or the rest of them.
